GRADING OF MARBLES
MINT and NEAR MINT
When it comes to grading our marbles we do things a little bit differently, we don't go by the one that is listed on pages or on websites, we have our own way of doing this. We have been doing this for over 16 years plus. When it comes to grading our marbles or anyone else’s marbles we look for details under a jewelers loop to look for cracks, chips of glass missing, bin marks, cold rolls, creases (fingernail – folds) or scuff marks. The second step is to check for spherical issues (out of round – weeble wobbles). All of these are considered factory as made blemishes.
We will run our fingernail over the marbles and if it catches then we will go further into depth to see what flaw or flaws it has and then we will label it in our description.
If any of the above appears in the marble SULLYS JABOS will not consider this marble MINT and we will label it as MINT MINUS PLUS or MINUS with (minor flaws like bin marks, scuff marks or slight out of round) or NEAR MINT (cold rolls, creases, dimples, way out of round, chips of glass missing).
